At SAFCU, the health and well-being of our staff and members are our top priority.
Following the direction from the CDC and Governor Abbott, San Angelo Federal Credit Union will limit personal contact and temporarily close both of our lobbies, beginning March 23, 2020. We will continue to operate with our drive-thru, regular hours, and be able to meet all your financial needs. We are committed to the safety of your accounts and your ability to access funds.
As the COVID-19 crisis continues, we know that we are in unprecedented times. The way we live, how we work and how members interact with businesses is rapidly evolving. Rest assured you can count on us to be there when you need us most.
We encourage you not to panic – your money is safer in your account than in your pocket; we are a federally insured credit union and the financial system is operating normally. There has been no impact on transferring money, using your debit card or credit card, or paying bills by electronic transfer. There is no risk in keeping your money in your credit union account, but there are countless risks to holding cash – especially large amounts. Remember – payment cards can be replaced, cash cannot.
We are also urging members to consider using alternative methods to access credit union services without going to the office. Your credit union has invested much time and money into making sure that many of our services can be accessed online or by our mobile apps. Please utilize our drive-thru lanes during this time. You may call ahead for any assistance, so we can have checks, debit cards, or loan papers ready in order to limit any waiting time.
Finally, we know this outbreak could affect our members’ income and their ability to pay bills; we would like to take this opportunity to remind you to seek assistance if needed. Please give us a call if you are having trouble paying your loans, and we will do our absolute best to work with you during this time.
We’re fully committed to the important role we play in your financial future. As your credit union, we are focused on getting our teams the tools and accommodations they need to continue to support your business, even during this global challenge. We won’t waver on this commitment.
On behalf of all of us at SAFCU, we are committed to supporting you and persevering together in these challenging times. As things progress, we will continue to keep you updated through announcements on Facebook and our website.
We appreciate and value your business,
President / CEO
